1. Who we are
Crafted Painters (“Crafted Painters,” “we,” “us” or “our”) is a family-owned painting contractor located at based in Frankfort, Maine, serving Bangor, Brewer, Hampden, Old Town, Winterport, Bucksport, Stockton Springs, Ellsworth, Bar Harbor and the surrounding areas. This policy applies to craftedpainters.com and to information you give us when you request an estimate or contact us. It applies to every visitor, wherever you live, including residents of Maine and North Carolina.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
When you request a free estimate through our online form, call, text or email us, we collect:
- Contact details — your name, email address and phone number.
- Project details — your project address and anything you tell us in your message, such as rooms, surfaces, timeline or color preferences.
- Communications — records of our calls, texts and emails with you.
We do not ask for, and please do not send through our website, sensitive information such as Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers, or bank or payment card numbers.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our site and the services that run it automatically collect certain information when you visit, including:
- Your IP address and approximate location (city/region) derived from it.
- Browser type, device type, operating system and screen size.
- Pages you view, links and buttons you click, how long you stay, and the date and time of your visit.
- The website, search or ad that referred you to us.
- Identifiers stored in cookies by Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity and the Meta Pixel, which recognize your browser across visits.
This information is collected through cookies and similar technologies, including Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity and the Meta Pixel, described in the next section.
3. Cookies, analytics & tracking
Our website tracks how visitors use it. We use cookies, Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity and the Meta Pixel to measure how people use our site, to see how visitors interact with our pages, and to measure and improve our advertising, including showing ads to people who have visited our site.
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. Similar technologies include pixels, tags, scripts and your browser's local storage. We use them for the purposes below.
Essential
To make the site work — for example, remembering in your browser's local storage that you dismissed our
cookie notice (cp-cookie-notice-dismissed). This stays on your device and is not shared.
Google Analytics (analytics)
Google Analytics, provided by Google LLC, helps us understand how many people visit, which pages they view,
how long they stay, what device and browser they use, their approximate location (city or region) and how
they found us. Google Analytics sets cookies such as _ga and _ga_*, which
typically last up to 2 years, to recognize returning visitors. Google processes this information on our
behalf and under its own terms; see
How Google uses information from sites that use its services
and the Google Privacy Policy.
Microsoft Clarity (analytics)
Microsoft Clarity, provided by Microsoft Corporation, shows us how visitors use our pages — for example
where people click, tap and scroll, and how far down a page they read — through heatmaps and recordings
of browsing sessions. These recordings capture your interactions with our pages (such as mouse movements,
clicks, taps, scrolling and the pages you view), along with your device and browser type and approximate
location. Clarity is designed to mask text you type into form fields, and we do not use it to identify
individual visitors. Clarity sets cookies such as _clck (which typically lasts up to 1 year)
and _clsk (about 1 day) to group the pages viewed in a visit and recognize returning
browsers. Microsoft processes this information under its own terms; see the
Microsoft Privacy Statement.
Meta Pixel (advertising)
The Meta Pixel is a small piece of code from Meta Platforms, Inc. (the company behind Facebook and
Instagram). When you visit our site, it sends Meta information such as the pages you view, actions you
take (for example, submitting our estimate form or tapping our phone number), the web address that referred you, your IP address and
browser and device information. The Meta Pixel sets cookies such as _fbp and, if you arrive
from a Facebook or Instagram ad, _fbc; these typically last about 90 days.
We use the Meta Pixel to:
- Measure whether our Facebook and Instagram ads lead to visits and estimate requests.
- Show our ads to people who have visited our website (“retargeting”) and to similar audiences.
- Improve how our ads are delivered.
If you are logged in to Facebook or Instagram, Meta may connect this information to your account and use it as described in the Meta Privacy Policy. We do not send the contents of our estimate form — such as your name, email address, phone number or project details — to Meta.
Our online estimate form (DripJobs)
The free estimate form on our Free Estimate page is provided by DripJobs, the estimating and scheduling software we use. The form loads from DripJobs inside our page, so the information you enter — such as your name, contact details, address and project details — is sent to DripJobs, which stores and processes it on our behalf so we can respond to your request. DripJobs may set its own cookies when the form loads and handles information under its own privacy policy, available on its website.
Embedded content
If a page includes content from another service (for example, a map or a social media feed), that service may set its own cookies.
Your tracking choices
- Browser settings: you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work, although some features may not.
- Microsoft Clarity: blocking or deleting cookies in your browser stops Clarity from recognizing your browser across visits.
- Google Analytics opt-out: install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
- Google ads: manage ad personalization in My Ad Center.
- Meta ads: control how Meta uses website activity for ads in your Facebook ad preferences, including the “Activity information from ad partners” setting.
- Industry opt-outs: opt out of interest-based ads from participating companies at YourAdChoices and the Network Advertising Initiative.
- Global Privacy Control: if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of targeted advertising and do not load the Meta Pixel for your browser.
- Do Not Track: there is no common industry standard for “Do Not Track” browser signals, so our site does not respond to them differently. You can use the options above instead.
4. How we use information
- To respond to your estimate request or question, and to schedule consultations and site visits.
- To prepare quotes, perform our painting services and follow up on completed work.
- To communicate with you by phone, text or email about your project.
- To understand how visitors use our website and to improve it.
- To measure our advertising and show our ads to people who have visited our site.

6. Calls, texts & email
When you submit a form or contact us, you agree that we may call, text or email you at the contact details you provide about your request and project. Message and data rates may apply.
- We will only send marketing or promotional text messages or prerecorded/autodialed marketing calls if you have given us separate, express written consent. Consent to marketing messages is never a condition of getting an estimate or hiring us.
- You can stop text messages at any time by replying STOP, or by asking us by phone or email.
- Every marketing email we send includes a way to unsubscribe, and we honor requests promptly.
7. How long we keep information
We keep estimate requests and customer records for as long as needed to respond to you, complete and warranty our work, and meet tax, accounting and legal requirements. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or make it anonymous. Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, Meta and DripJobs keep the data they collect according to their own retention settings and policies.
8. Security & breach notification
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections to our website and limiting access to the people who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
If a security breach involving your personal information occurs, we will notify you and the appropriate authorities as required by law, including Maine's Notice of Risk to Personal Data Act (10 M.R.S. §§ 1346–1350-B) and North Carolina's Identity Theft Protection Act (N.C. Gen. Stat. § 75-60 et seq.).
9. Your choices & rights
Regardless of where you live, you may ask us to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct information that is inaccurate.
- Delete your information, unless we need to keep it to complete your project or for legal reasons.
- Stop marketing calls, texts or emails.
- Opt out of targeted advertising and any “sale” or “sharing” of your information through our website tracking (see section 3).
To make a request, email craftedpainters@gmail.com or call (207) 266-6065. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request. We will respond within 45 days and will not treat you differently for exercising these choices. If your state gives you additional privacy rights, we will honor them as required by law.
10. Children's privacy
Our website is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Third-party links
Our site may link to other websites and services, such as social media pages or review sites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, so please review their privacy policies.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page, and if the changes are significant we will post a notice on our website. Your continued use of the site after an update means the updated policy applies.
